This Privacy Policy explains how the Uttar Pradesh Police Enterprise Management System (UPP EMS) collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information of its users. UPP EMS is operated by the Uttar Pradesh Police as a Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

1. Information we collect

  • Account details such as name, official email, username, phone number and assigned role.
  • Operational data entered into the system: budget entries, inventory records, pension files, project documents and audit trails.
  • Session metadata: IP address, browser type, login timestamps and failed login attempts (used for rate-limiting and incident response).

2. How we use information

  • To authenticate users and enforce role-based access control.
  • To deliver the requested workflows (budget allocation, inventory management, pension administration, project tracking, audit).
  • To detect unauthorised access, abuse, and to comply with legal and audit obligations.

3. Lawful basis

Processing is carried out in the discharge of sovereign functions of the State and for the performance of duties assigned by law to the Uttar Pradesh Police.

4. Sharing

Personal data is shared only within authorised units of the Uttar Pradesh Police, the Government of Uttar Pradesh, statutory auditors, and Government of India bodies where required by law. We do not sell or rent personal data to any third party.

5. Retention

Records are retained for the period required under departmental record-retention schedules and applicable laws, after which they are securely archived or destroyed.

6. Your rights

  • Right to access and correct your personal data held in UPP EMS.
  • Right to grievance redressal through the Grievance Officer.
  • Right to nominate, in respect of personal data, in case of incapacity or death.

7. Security

UPP EMS uses encrypted transport (HTTPS), role-based access control with row-level security, audit logging of administrative actions, and rate-limiting on authentication endpoints.
